INTRODUCTION
This 7-hour training session, “Transforming English Learning in Kindergarten: Adopting a Natural Language Acquisition Approach,” is designed to equip kindergarten principals, supervisors, and teachers with a deeper understanding of how young children acquire English as a second language naturally.
OBJECTIVES
At the end of the course, you should be able to:
- Explain the need to transform traditional English teaching methods into natural language acquisition approaches in early childhood education.
- Demonstrate an understanding of second language acquisition based on Dr. Stephen Krashen’s key theories.
- Identify the effectiveness of Four-Stage Learning Progression Approach (4SLPA) in translating the Natural Approach into practical classroom strategies for teaching English as a second language to children.
- Apply the 4SLPA to develop children’s listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills in English as a second language naturally.
